Good Morning Foodies! Just a heads up for you FOODIES- KITCHEN WILL BE CLOSED until…

NEW YEAR, NEW DAY!
Good Morning Foodies!
Today’s Menu:
SMOOTHIES!
SMOOTHIES!
I cannot believe we are almost half way through the first month of JANUARY. I did not realize that the HUNTERS and then going to the GOVERNOR’S IGNAUGRATION would make time fly! I sure hope this is not any indication of how busy the rest of the year will be but trust me, I think it will be.
So, I think we have all tried to put away those “STRETCHY PANTS” by now. Trying to eat healthier, smaller portions, a bit more exercising—we all know the drill. When someone yelled at me “EXERCISE!” I yelled back, “EXCUSE ME, I THOUGHT YOU SAID EXTRA FRIES!” Geezz—let’s have a little sense of humor!
Today you can see I posted a menu that reflects those “SMOOTHIES, ETC.” A friend of HUBBY and me brought us one of those POWERFUL SMOOTHIE/ VEGGIE MACHINES. Trust me, I was very apprehensive approaching this gadget. It is very scary looking. The first thing was to put it together and watch out for that “MOTOR BOARD” TYPE OF BLADE! YIKES!
Then, the next approach was to try a recipe. You will see that some of the recipes have alcohol added, this is totally optional! Want HEALTHY, leave it off. There are a thousand and one recipes for these drinks. I feel the best rule of thumb is to use the fruits and veggies you love. Don’t make a drink that you have to force yourself to drink. There are too many options to make something you really like. I think another important thing is to use what is in season, clean out your refrigerator or freezer with bits of this and that. You might just invent your own fabulous SMOOTHIE.
I went out and bought all the veggies that were called for. It literally filled the largest bowl I had in my house (AND I HAVE BIG BOWLS)! I looked at all those veggies and figured it was going to make gallons of this drink potion! I then lined up about a dozen cups to catch the liquid part. Well, that didn’t quite happen. I got one measly glass. You should see the pulp that is left in the bottom. I looked at that MACHINE, then looked at the mass of VEGGIE PULP LEFT and looked down at that single glass of VEGGIE JUICE! I then popped myself on the forehead and said, “I COULD HAVE HAD A “V-8”! I know some of you FOODIES out there might love these drinks but I think I can find better things to do with my time! Hope you enjoy them or give them a try and see what you think!
