MOTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good Morning Foodies!
I know that this weekend is chock-a-block of activities! There is the Kentucky Derby, Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival, Recovery from Cinco de Mayo (today’s festive day) and probably many festivals around the state or where you live. I also have heard that many of the activities that were planned for last weekend that got washed out by the heavy rains are being held this weekend, like CONGE AT ACADEMY OF THE SACRED HEART IN GRAND COTEAU! So, there is plenty to do out there!
I must say, at some point and time during this weekend, push everything aside and pay tribute to any and all MOTHERS in your life. If you are so fortunate to have your MOTHER with you—stop and be with her, tell her you love her and by all means, show her that you love her.
The best definition of “UNCONDITIONAL LOVE” IS “YOUR MOTHER”!
When I think of my MOTHER, these are some of the fascinating things that come to mind, that she instilled in me:
1-If you ever need a HELPING HAND, it is at the end of your ARM.
2-As you get OLDER, remember you have ANOTHER HAND—the first is to HELP YOURSELF and the second is to HELP OTHERS!
A LOVING MOTHER will tell you that no act of KINDNESS, however small, is ever WASTED. “KINDNESS ALWAYS MATTERS”!
I am so sorry that my MOTHER is not with me any longer, but I feel so blessed to be surrounded by so may “MOTHERS” in my life. I am so proud of my two daughters, CELESTE and CHARLOTTE and my daughter-in-law, NICOLE. They are excellent MOTHERS. Watching them in their roles, is the best gift I can ever ask for in return. They make life so good for me!
I believe if we adhere to the following words, we can all be great MOTHERS, as well as great HUMAN BEINGS!
“I choose to live by CHOICE, not by CHANCE; To make CHANGES, not EXCUSES; To be MOTIVATED, not MANIPULATED; to be USEFUL, not USED; To EXCEL, not COMPETE; I choose SELF-ESTEEM, not SELF-PITY; I choose to LISTEN to my INNER VOICE, not the random OPINION OF OTHERS!”

Kitchen will be closed all next week. I have some activities that will require my most intent attention. I will be hosting a luncheon for the SENIOR ANGELS FROM QUEEN OF ANGELS CHURCH IN OPELOUSAS. This was my first year as a member and feel very blessed to be a part of this group. To show how much I appreciate their hard work, I am providing lunch for them. So I will be away from my kitchen to host this for these most lovely ladies!
I will be back on Monday, May 16th!
