HALFWAY THROUGH THE SUMMER!
Good Morning Foodies! Geezzzzzz!!!! Is it just me or is this summer just flying by. We are already half way through the summer vacation for those kiddos! In a mere four or five weeks, they will all be back in school. I will try for the rest of the month of July, to give you menus and recipes that are geared to helping you have limited time in the k…itchen and making things that the kids might enjoy! On the upside, FOOTBALL SEASON IS ALMOST HERE!!!!!!!!! Yeah!!!
Today’s menu is one that is really simple but very creative on your end. Your family and friends will think you slaved all day. I especially love the ROSEMARY CHICKEN SKEWERS!
If some of you missed the posting of the foods from the new restaurant, THE SILVER SLIPPER, go back and look. This is a great hidden gem for this area. I just love all these little restaurants that are the owned and operated by your local community people. We are so fortunate to have in this area the following great restaurants: THE STEAMBOAT WAREHOUSE in WASHINGTON; CAFÉ JOSEPHINE AND CREOLA in the SUNSET/GRAND COTEAU AREA; THE CRAWFISH HOUSE, THE PALACE CAFÉ, SOILEAU’S, BENNY’S DELI and KELLY’S DINER in OPELOUSAS; LITTLE BIG CUP in ARNAUDVILLE. I am truly amazed at the creativity of their menu and dishes. If you want a real treat, with a relaxed family atmosphere, give these places a try. I promise you will not be disappointed. These are places that treat you like family and not interested in just turning the table over for the next paying customer.
