Good Morning Foodies! I must say the Montreal trip was very nice. Montreal reminded me of the cities of New Orleans and Paris. The people are more like us, right here in Louisiana. They were very kind, polite and helpful. It was a very clean city. There must be a very low crime rate because the whole time we were there we never saw one POLICEMAN. I am sorry that the weather wasn’t cooler. It was very warm. The joke was that they wanted us to feel at home. Their food was a bit different. There were many fine restaurants. They covered most ethnic food items. We tried our best to taste them all. POUTINE is what they refer to as their signature dish. It is my understanding that POUTINE means “A COMBINATION OF THINGS”. We sampled a SEAFOOD POUTINE. It was an assortment of seafood (scallops, lobster, fish, shrimp, mussels) served over French fries with a cheese sauce. It was very rich. We did learn that whatever combination of food they used is was always served over French fries with some type of cheese. Quite interesting! I am glad that I only had to deal with 1 hour difference in time zones. Two time zones and beyond are not kind to my adjustment! Trying to unpack and settle in for a brief time. Will be off again soon!

I am sure most of you are tying up these last few weeks of summer. Everyone tries to squeeze in as much stuff as possible before those SCHOOL BELLS BEGIN TO RING! Actually 3 weeks prior to this date, I saw a group of mothers buying SCHOOL UNIFORMS! GEEZZZZZZ—it surely does come fast.

Today’s menu is a nice and easy one to get in and out of your kitchen! I still have a few of my CREOLE TOMATOES left so I try to use them any way possible. GONNA MISS MY “MATERS”!

Have a great day!
