AWAY IN A MANGER!!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to share with you a note I received from a most lovely lady who was originally from Opelousas and now lives in Florida. She read about the LIGHTING OF THE COURTHOUSE NATIVITY AND OAKS and this is her thoughts on the event!

“I just read your article about the LIGHTING of the grounds of the COURT HOUSE SQUARE in OPELOUSAS. It brought tears to my eyes as I remembered my wonderful years of growing up in OPELOUSAS, especially the CHRISTMAS SEASON and the lighting up of the entire COURT HOUSE BUILDING and the TREES.
We would gather together as a COMMUNITY, sing CHRISTMAS CAROLS, talk to FRIENDS, skate on the SIDEWALKS around the grounds, then walk across the street to the DRUG STORE SODA FOUNTAIN. We even had the MANGER WITH THE BABY JESUS!
I now live in Clearwater, Florida and as I drive through town and onto the causeway leading to (according to the experts, the most beautiful beach), you wouldn’t even know it is CHRISTMAS. Not one LIGHT, DECORATION, CHRISTMAS TREE and GOD forbid NO MANGER SCENE because someone might be insulted! It makes me sad to see my GRANDCHILDREN and GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN are being cheated of the most wonderful and blessed time of their life. The world has lost its perspective of the most precious gift that GOD has given to the world. Thank you for bringing me back to the most wonderful years that formed me. May your CHRISTMAS be BLESSED with HIS GREATEST GIFT OF LOVE, PEACE AND JOY!”
