ARE YOU READY FOR SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!

Ready or not, SUMMER is officially upon us! Of course, here in the SOUTH, that is just another day! Surprisingly, we do manage to get a few breaks in the high humidity and temps, get that nice cool breeze, get to sit outside and not swat the mosquitoes and other pesky bugs. I can remember sitting outside with some GRAND PEEPS, several years back, and the sun had gone down. Those horrible mosquitoes were unbearable. Trying to protect the GRAND PEEPS as best I could. In the distance, I noticed there were some LIGHTING BUGS. One of the GRAND PEEPS, looked at me with such a defeated face and said, “GRAMMIE, you might as well give up, here come some more mosquitoes, but hey have flashlights! BUT HEY, that is LIFE down here in the BAYOU WORLD! Would not trade it for anything! I know that HUMIDITY acts like a nice SPA treatment for our complexions. If you don’t believe me, stand next to someone from ARIZONA (where there is no humidity but plenty of heat). Their poor skins get wrinkled like the deserts about them. We stay fresh and lush like our hidden water treasures!

Before closing today, I would like to give some closing comments about THE WALKING LADIES-WINE-UP EVENT! You will never know how big our hearts felt with the most overwhelming help we got from the community and also surrounding communities. People were so kind, generous, and soooo helpful! The wonderful comments made on the GAA site, phone calls, texts, conversations on the street-were all so encouraging. We can never thank you people enough for helping us pull this event off. We are still a long way off from completing all our goals for the COURTHOUSE SQUARE LIGHTING AND NATIVITY. We hope everyone will still come forward and help us keep up this most rewarding work that everyone benefits from.
