I would be remised if I let this week go by without acknowledged “TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK”! I like to think that being a MOTHER, is the most important job I can do, but also being a TEACHER (in my past), was just as rewarding. When you think about the two roles, they are quite similar!
I kept a little journal from my days of teaching of things kids said that always made me laugh or even just put a smile on my face. Here are just a few:
1-What is a TERMINAL ILLNESS? Answer: “When you are sick at the airport!”
2-What does VARICOSE mean? Answer: “Nearby!”
3-What does the word BENIGN mean? Answer: Benign is what you will be after you are eight!”
Yes, those were the days! Miss those kids sometimes, but GRAND PEEPS, sometimes fill that funny void!
To all you TEACHERS out there, I know that you think GRADING PAPERS and LESSON PLANNING make you a TEACHER, but always remember ENCOURAGING a ROOMFUL OF STUDENTS, each day makes you an INSPIRATION! To TEACH, is to touch a LIFE FOREVER! A true definition of a TEACHER is one that has a HEART FOR CARING, a GIFT OF GUIDANCE and has the key to open the door to a BRIGHT FUTURE!
TEACHERS who love TEACHING, teach CHILDREN to love LEARNING!
