LOOKING BEYOND!
Good Morning Foodies!
Don’t know about you but this is about the time I start put my planning into gear for THANKSGIVING DAY! I find it doesn’t matter if I am cooking for two or fifty, still need to plan. It makes my life so much easier!
Our family is quite large when we all get together and we all chip in! HUBBY and I always provide the entrée; then the AUNTS/UNCLES provide the SIDES; and then the NIECES/NEPHEWS, ETC. provide appetizers and desserts! Works every time! The reason I like this method is that I know each person will have something on the GIVING TABLE that they love and want to share! NEVER FAILS!
I try to remember that for me to be HAPPY in this HOLIDAY MADNESS, everything doesn’t have to be PERFECT! It means that I have decided to look beyond the IMPERFECTIONS!
As my wises GRANDMOTHER would day: “It is not HAPPY PEOPLE who are THANKFUL; It is THANKFUL PEOPLE who are HAPPY!
I hope most of you remembered that this coming Saturday is VETERANS’S DAY! This is the official United States holiday that honors people who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. We all know that the number is quickly dwindling for the survivors of World War I & II. I saw on the news the other night that is been over a 100 years since World War I-amazing—but it is good that we still can focus on the effects of war. I have the most respect for all the VETERANS because they are filled with a solemn pride in their unselfish heroism. Stop some time during this day, and maybe even every day, and think of all the little things you do without even thinking about them—THEN REMEMBER, YOU HAVE THAT FREEDOM TO DO THESE THINGS BECAUSE OF THESE MILITARY PEOPLE! They deserve our respect and thanks! THANK A VETERAN TODAY! GOD BLESS AMERICA AND ITS QUIET HEROES—THE VETERANS!
Have a safe and productive weekend!
