FOCUS ON THE MOMENT!

I can look into my CRYSTAL BALL and I see that most of you FOODIES have scattered for the summer. SCHOOL is out, SWIM CLASSES have begun, SUMMER PROGRAMS are in full swing, VACATIONS have us spread out, but yet, we need to continue our daily rituals.

I am hoping everyone had a most enjoyable MEMORIAL DAY. HUBBY and I were very fortunate to share a BIG BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION for one of our BEST BUDS this past weekend! It was not the big “50” or “60” but the BIG “70”! Prior to the celebration, I took it upon myself to purchase some cute decorative things for this big number! I searched and searched up and down every aisle—NOTHING! Then, I noticed a sign that said, “SPECIAL NUMBERED BIRTHDAYS”! Ah, yes, finally. I go down the aisle and see “16”, “21”, “30”, all the way to “60”! NO “70”!!!!! I asked the worker down the aisle if she had anything with that number. She was most serious, when she approached me and said, “MAM’ (I know when they call me that they think they are dealing with an IDIOIT), DO YOU REALLY THINK A PERSON THAT OLD REALLY WANTS TO PARTY?” I was dumbfounded! Obviously, she does not know me nor my friends! We will all go down “KICKING”! I just politely smiled at her and picked up one “60” and one “10”! I said, “I think my friend can still ADD!”

The bottom line in all this age stuff “LIFE IS LIKE A ROLL OF TOILET PAPER, THE CLOSER IT GETS TO THE END, THE FASTER IT GOES!” I look at it like this, “I open TWO GIFTS every morning, they are my EYES!” Never pass up a party, especially the CAKE!
