If you live in this neck of the woods, and do not know what I am talking about, then you must live under a rock. Two great FESTIVALS are this weekend. The infamous NEW ORLEANS JAZZ FEST begins today and runs again next weekend! In Lafayette, The FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL DE LOUISIANE started yesterday and runs through Sunday!

Trust me, there is not a better way to experience the music, food, art, people and culture of NEW ORLEANS and LAFAYETTE. Everyone should try one or both of these festivals in their lifetime. If you are looking for a smaller scale adventure, do LAFAYETTE!

The FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL DE LOUISIANE is the largest free FRANCOPHONE festival in the country. The event celebrates the connections between Acadiana and the FRANCOPHONE world. Hundreds of performing and visual artists from all over the world converge on several stages across downtown LAFAYETTE.

Music, dancing, cuisine, theater, cooking demonstrations, storytelling, visual arts, crafts and street animation are all part of the experience.
Most people have heard of or experienced NEW ORLEANS JAZZ FEST so if you want something different and more low key—GIVE THE FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL DE LOUISIANE a try!
