WHIRLWIND APPROACHING!

Good Morning Foodies!

Today’s Menu:

Avocado and Shrimp Salsa
Cheesy Cocktail Crackers
Unique Lasagna Cupcakes
Spicy Chicken and Beef Burritos (Crock Pot)
Bread Pudding with Praline Sauce

Just when I think I am organized and can take a breather, BOOM-I looked at the calendar! No such thing! This coming weekend is the BAL MASQUE, which is the MARDI GRAS BALL held in Opelousas. It presents young ladies as debutantes from the area. Guess who has a GRAND PEEP being presented? COURTNEY ELISE MORROW will be one of those lovely young ladies. I guess my life has come full circle. When HUBBY and I moved to Opelousas in 1972, we were on the COURT of the BAL MASQUE. It was through this event that we met many people and many who have remained our dearest friends. In 1985, HUBBY was the KING OF THE BAL MASQUE and then later, our son, CRAIG, was the KING in 2007. My, my, that proves time does fly by! Looking forward to watching this through the eyes of my PEEPS and GRAND PEEPS.

Then, if you dare to look around the corner on your calendar, we have three big events smashed together—SUPERBOWL (Sunday, February 7th); MARDI GRAS (Tuesday, February 9th) and VALENTINE’S (Sunday, February 14th)—which is the next weekend from the other two events. Let me also mention that LENT begins on Wednesday, February 10th! ARE YOU READY FOR ALL THAT!

I firmly believe the conspiracy theory that the reason the SAINTS did not do so well this season they would rather be in THE BIG EASY for MARDI GRAS than go to the SUPER BOWL! Just saying!
For the next two weeks, I will help you out by posting menus that go hand and hand with all those EVENTS coming along.

TAKE A BIG BREATH!

Have a great day!
