SOIREE—MEANS GOOD EATING AND BEING WITH FABULOUS PEOPLE!
Good Morning Foodies! I thought I would change up this format a bit so that you will know what the day’s menu is. I realize by the time I finish posting everything, the posts get separated and some of the FOODIES are confused to where things are. I hope this helps.
Today’s Menu:
Goat Cheese Topped with Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Rosemary
Potato, Olive and Feta Flatbread
I cannot begin to tell you how all inspiring this past weekend was. Chris Heben, the former NAVY SEAL, brought tears to my eyes. After meeting and spending time with him, I know I can sleep a little more soundly at night because of young men like him, who defend our country, asking no questions and bravely giving their life so that we can go about our business as usual. Seeing HUBBY swearing in our SON, was just one of those most wonderful moments in life that I will never forget. It is nice to know that some of the parenting skills paid off! On behalf of my family, I want to thank all of you for the nice comments and sentiments that you shared with us. Craig was so touched by all the kind words. Thanks again for the support!As you can see in today’s menu, it is on the side of being ITALIAN! After years of battling stuffing the manicotti shells, I finally had a “LIGHT-BULB MOMENT” go off in my head. I decided to put the spinach stuffing on the lasagna shells and roll them up. I must say it was easier, I didn’t cuss as much and I think it is more attractive than hiding those split manicotti shells. Trust me the taste is the same! The other three items were some of my childhood favorites. Hope you enjoy them.
Don’t forget that tonight is the SOIREE ROYALE! It is at EVANGELINE DOWNS EVENT CENTER. The WINE AND BEER CRAFT TASTING begins at 5:30 PM and the CULINARY TASTING at 6 PM. Money raised for the great youth of our parish—SCHOLARSHIPS! Come out and support a great cause, meet wonderful people and indulge in the most fantastic presentations of food!
Trust me judging is no easy task. Every entry is a winner!
