UNDERSTANDING LIFE AS YOU AGE!

Good Morning Foodies!

Don’t know about you, but when I was in my 20’s, 30’s, 40’s and maybe a little in my 50’s, I just thought people in their 70’s are DAMN OLD! Everyone will say “AGE” is only a NUMBER! “WEIGHT” is only a NUMBER! Don’t know about you but this NUMBER THING is really starting to aggravate me! There are days, I pat myself on my back because I am so AMAZING, then there are days, when I put my KEYS in the FRIDGE!

Aging is sort of looking at the GLASS HALF FULL OR EMPTY SYNDROME! I know for myself, when I was younger and did something fun or experienced something new, I had the attitude of I will do that again! Now, as I am approaching that age, that is past THE GOLDEN YEARS—I look at these things I do as maybe the last time I will do this. Trying to do all those things on the OLD BUCKET LIST before the BUCKET BUSTS A HOLE! Every morning, I am thankful when I read the morning paper and scan the obituary section—don’t see my name, so it is a good day!

I still tell myself, “You know all those things you always wanted to do???? YOU SHOULD GO DO THEM! I have learned that LIFE’S ROUGHEST STORMS prove the STRENGTH OF YOUR ANCHOR!

As my wise grandfather would say, “Expect Nothing; Appreciate Everything; Love All-Repeat Daily! Then he would just give me a slight smile and say, “Not to spoil the ending for you, but everything will be okay!”

Every day I give special thanks for my HUBBY, CHILDREN AND THEIR SPOUSES, MY GRAND PEEPS, ALL MY FAMILY MEMBERS AND FRIENDS AND FOODIES! These are life’s best blessings and gifts!

FAMILY AND FRIENDS are not defined by who you LOVE, but how you LOVE!

I am thankful for each day GOD gives me on this EARTH! My “Montra” is this: “She wasn’t where she had been. She wasn’t where she was going, but SHE WAS ON HER WAY!”

In closing, want to thank all of you who made my 76th BIRTHDAY such a wonderful moment. LIFE IS GRAND! I know it will be a great day and look forward to many more sensational birthdays, if GOD is willing!
