DUCK, DUCK, DUCK—BEADS ABOUND!

Good Morning Foodies!

Okay, next TUESDAY is MARDI GRAS! I hope all of you that are attending the numerous parades and balls, have some great costumes or at least a great mask! GET INTO THE SPIRIT!

DUCK, DUCK, DUCK—BEADS ABOUND!
If you plan to partake of the MARDI GRAS festivities, better get working on those costumes. NO COSTUME—YOU SAY—then at least wear a GREAT MASK! You get away with more monkey-shines, when behind that mask! “JUST ASK THE LONE RANGER, BATMAN, CATWOMAN!!!!!!!!
I am so lucky that I grew up in the New Orleans area and got to experience Mardi Gras when life was much more simple and less scary. I can remember being with my friends, just walking the streets of New Orleans, while our parents hung out at the DEAF CLUB. It was pretty amazing that you didn’t fear for your life or worry that someone was going to abduct you. LIFE WAS GRAND!
I always try to stress to my children how important it is to have great friends these days. You need all the help you can get raising kids and having someone watch your back. You know the saying, “GOOD FRIENDS ARE LIKE THE STARS, YOU DON’T ALWAYS SEE THEM BUT YOU KNOW THEY ARE ALWAYS THERE!”

The one thing I do know as I age that is still true but the one difference is this, “THERE IS NO GREATER BLESSING THAN A GOOD FRIEND, EXCEPT A GOOD FRIEND WHO GROWS TO BE AN OLD FRIEND!”
My Godmother use to tell me, “FRIENDS ARE ANGELS WHO LIFT US TO OUR FEET WHEN OUR WINGS FORGET TO FLY!”
So today, my wish for you is to reach out to your friend or friends and tell them how important they are in your life!

KITCHEN WILL BE CLOSED MONDAY AND TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 28 & MARCH 1ST. Enjoy MARDI GRAS WHEREVER YOU ARE. Remember to be safe and wise!

Upcoming LENTEN SEASON AND THEN EASTER!

Have a safe and productive weekend!
