  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 ½ c. flour
  • 1 t. salt
  • 1 c. butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 t. orange zest, divided
  • 1 t. orange extract
  • 1 c. powdered sugar
  • 2 T. fresh orange juice
  • Orange zest strips, garnish

  1. Preheat oven 350.
  2. Line 13×9” baking pan with foil, letting excess extend over sides of pan.
  3. Spray with PAM.
  4. In large bowl, whisk together sugar, flour and salt.
  5. Add butter, eggs, 1 t. zest and extract.
  6. Beat with mixer at medium speed until well combined.
  7. Spread batter into prepared pan.
  8. Bake 30 minutes or until golden brown and center is set.
  9. Remove from oven and prick all over the top with a fork.
  10. In small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, orange juice and remaining zest until smooth.
  11. Pour onto warm pan and let cool completely.
  12. Using excess foil as handles, remove from pan and cut into bars.
  13. Garnish with zest strips, if desired.
  14. Store in airtight container for 2 days or in refrigerator.
